Your team: members, roles and workspaces

Add teammates to your workspace with a role, change or remove them, and switch between the workspaces you belong to.

Who can do this

  • Everyone in a workspace can see its member list.
  • The owner and admins can add and remove people. Admins can only add and remove members and viewers.
  • Only the owner can change someone’s role.

Your team works under the workspace’s plan. See Plans and what each includes.

The four roles

Every person in a workspace has one role:

  • Owner: the account the workspace belongs to. There is one owner, and ownership can’t be passed to someone else.
  • Admin: everything a member can do, plus adding and removing members and viewers, exporting data, deleting leads and editing brand kits.
  • Member: creates, edits and publishes funnels, and works the lead inbox. A member can’t export or delete leads, export data or add people.
  • Viewer: reads funnels, publishing status and analytics. A viewer never sees leads.

When you pick a role in the invite form, the form describes it in one line, for example Viewer: reads funnels, publishing status and analytics. Never sees leads.

A viewer who opens a funnel’s Leads tab or All leads sees Viewers can’t see leads: they’re your visitors’ personal details. Leads hold your visitors’ names, email addresses and answers, so only owners, admins and members can open them. See Privacy and your leads.

FunnelCreative checks every action on the server as well as in the app. If your role doesn’t allow something, the app says Your role in this workspace can’t do that. (on the Members card it adds “Nothing changed.”)

Open the member list

  1. In the sidebar, under SETTINGS, click Account & data.
  2. The first card is Members of <workspace>. It lists each person’s email address and role.

Next to a name you may see:

  • · you: that is your own membership.
  • · hasn’t signed in yet: the person was added but hasn’t signed in since.

Invite a teammate

  1. On Members of <workspace>, click Invite a teammate.
  2. Type their address under Email address.
  3. Choose a Role. The owner can choose Admin, Member or Viewer. An admin can choose Member or Viewer.
  4. Click Send invite. To stop, click Cancel.

The card then says <email> can now sign in to <workspace> as <role>. No email was sent: tell them to sign in with this address.

Note: FunnelCreative doesn’t email your teammate. Tell them yourself that they have been added, and which email address to use.

What your teammate does

  1. They go to the sign-in page and sign in with the address you added. See Signing in and out.
  2. After signing in, they land in their own workspace, not yours. If that workspace has no plan, they see Your account doesn’t include FunnelCreative funnels yet. Drafts you make are saved in this browser.
  3. They open the workspace menu at the top of the sidebar and choose your workspace under Your workspaces.

Every sign-in starts in the person’s own workspace, so they switch to yours each time they sign in.

Change someone’s role

Only the owner can do this.

  1. On Members of <workspace>, find the person.
  2. Choose the new role in the list next to their name.
  3. Click Change role.

The card says <email> is now <role>.

You can’t change the owner’s role or your own role: the role list doesn’t appear next to those names.

Remove someone

  1. On Members of <workspace>, click Remove next to the person.
  2. The card asks Remove <email>?. Click Remove to confirm, or Cancel.

The card says <email> was removed from <workspace>. The person can no longer open this workspace. Their own account and their own workspace are not touched.

  • The owner can remove anyone except the owner.
  • An admin can remove members and viewers, but not another admin or the owner: Remove doesn’t appear next to them.
  • Nobody can remove themselves here. The owner can’t be removed.

Workspaces and the workspace switcher

A workspace holds funnels, leads, brand settings and a team. Every account has one workspace of its own. It is set up with your first purchase or sign-in and is called My workspace.

You get access to other workspaces only when their owner or an admin adds you.

Switch workspace

  1. At the top of the sidebar, click the workspace name. Under it you see your role there and your email address.
  2. The menu Your workspaces lists every workspace you belong to, with your role in each. The one you are in is marked · current.
  3. Click another workspace. It shows Opening… while it works.

The app reopens on My funnels in that workspace. Every screen then shows that workspace’s funnels, leads and settings.

If a funnel has changes that haven’t reached the workspace yet, the app first asks Some changes haven’t been saved to your workspace yet. Switch workspace anyway?

What you can’t do with workspaces

  • You can’t create another workspace.
  • You can’t rename a workspace.
  • You can’t move a plan from one workspace to another.
  • You can’t hand the owner role to someone else.

Limits

  • One owner per workspace. Ownership can’t move.
  • Roles you can give: Admin, Member and Viewer.
  • Adding someone sends no email.
  • Viewers never see leads.

If something goes wrong

  • The invitation wasn’t saved. followed by Something went wrong on our side. Nothing was changed; try again. This also appears when the address is already a member of the workspace. Check the member list first.
  • We couldn’t open that workspace. Nothing changed; try again. The switch didn’t happen. Try again, or reload the page.
  • Your teammate can’t see your funnels: they are probably still in their own workspace. Ask them to switch to yours from the workspace menu.
  • Your teammate gets no sign-in email: check they typed the exact address you added. See Troubleshooting.
