# Create a funnel from your offer > Describe your offer, find a starting point among the 10 recipes, and start a new funnel from the recipe you choose. Applies to: FunnelCreative Commercial · Audience: humans Web page: https://staging.funnelcreative.com/docs/create-a-funnel ## Who can do this - To create a funnel in a workspace: an owner, admin or member of a workspace that includes FunnelCreative Commercial. - Anyone can create a browser draft without signing in. It is saved in this browser only. See [Working without signing in](https://staging.funnelcreative.com/docs/browser-drafts.md). - A viewer can look at recipes but can’t create funnels. - With Campaign Vault alone, you can install packs but can’t start a funnel from a recipe. ## Describe your funnel 1. Open [the Create screen](https://staging.funnelcreative.com/app): click **Create a funnel** in the sidebar, or the **New funnel** button. 2. In the box labelled **Describe your funnel**, write what you offer, who it is for and what you want people to do. You can use up to 2,500 characters. 3. Not sure what to write? Under **Need a little inspiration?**, click **A course launch**, **A software launch** or **A product launch**. The example replaces what is in the box, and you can edit it. 4. Click **Find my starting point**. The button stays greyed out while the box is empty. What you type here is your brief. It stays in this browser while you choose a recipe, and it is copied into the new funnel as its original brief. You can reopen and edit it later in the editor under **Your original brief**. ### What Find my starting point does It doesn’t create anything, and it doesn’t write any copy. It: - shows all 10 recipes, with the filter set to **All recipes** - moves the page down to the recipes - shows a notice If a recipe matches words in your brief, the notice says **A suggested starting point is highlighted below. Choose any recipe to make it yours.** and that recipe’s card shows **Suggested**. If nothing matches, it says **No close match yet. Explore the recipes below to find your starting point.** The **Suggested** tag also updates on its own as you type. It is a simple word match against each recipe’s name and description, and it marks one recipe at most. It is only a hint: pick whichever recipe fits you. ## Choose a recipe Under **Start with a recipe**, the Create screen first shows five starter recipes: - **Webinar to course** - **Software trial to activation** - **Product offer with optional upsell** - **Application to discovery call** - **Appointment requests** Click **Browse all 10 recipes** to see every recipe and the audience filter. Click **Show five starters** to go back. With all recipes showing, filter them with **All recipes**, **Courses**, **Software**, **Ecommerce**, **Coaching** or **Services**. You can also open **Recipe library** in the sidebar ([Recipe library](https://staging.funnelcreative.com/app/library)). It always shows all 10 recipes with the filter, under the heading “Find your starting point.” Each card shows a real preview of the recipe’s first page, the audience it is made for, its name, a short description and **Make it yours**. > Limit: Three of the five starters, **Software trial to activation**, **Product offer with optional upsell** and **Application to discovery call**, have no form in this release. A funnel made from them can’t be published or collect enquiries. For software or products, choose **Waitlist sign-ups**. For coaching, choose **Consultation enquiries**. Click the recipe card. 2. A screen headed “Starting your funnel.” shows **Setting up …** while FunnelCreative prepares it. Before the workspace has loaded, it says **Getting your workspace ready…**. 3. The new funnel opens in the editor on the **Page design** tab. Where it is saved depends on how you are signed in: - Signed in to a workspace with FunnelCreative Commercial: in your workspace. The heading shows **Saved to your workspace**. - Signed out: in this browser. The heading shows **Saved on this device**. - Signed in without FunnelCreative Commercial: in this browser. The workspace says **Your account doesn’t include FunnelCreative funnels yet. Drafts you make are saved in this browser.** ### Starting from a link A recipe can also be started from a creation link, which looks like `/app/new?recipe=waitlist`. The recipe cards on the FunnelCreative homepage use these links. Each visit to a link creates one funnel. Opening the link adds a one-time code to the address. If you reload that page or go back and forward, FunnelCreative opens the same funnel again instead of making a second one. Opening the plain link again later starts another funnel. ## What happens next Your new funnel contains: - A name: the recipe’s name. Change it in **Funnel name**. - An empty business name. Until you fill in **Business name**, the preview shows **Your business**. - Your brief, saved as **Your original brief**. - The recipe’s sample copy: a headline, an introduction, button text and a list of benefits. - The recipe’s form, if it has one. Recipes with a form also get a thank-you page with a short sample message. - The recipe’s page style. - The recipe’s follow-up email drafts. FunnelCreative writes no new copy when it creates the funnel. Everything starts as the recipe’s sample copy for you to replace. Next, confirm your facts and edit the page. For your workspace, see the **Stored drafts** figure on your Plan card (**Settings → Brand & presets → Plan**). - Starting from a recipe needs FunnelCreative Commercial. Campaign Vault on its own installs packs instead. ## If something goes wrong These messages can appear when you start a funnel: - **This funnel may already exist**: the page reloaded while the funnel was being created, so it may already be in My funnels. Click **Open My funnels** to check, or **Create it anyway** to start another. - **We couldn’t start this funnel**: the message underneath says why. Click **Try again**, or **Back to recipes**. - **That recipe link isn’t available any more. Choose a starting point below.** The creation link named a recipe that doesn’t exist. You are taken to the Recipe library. - **This browser has 50 drafts. Open one from My funnels to keep creating.** Open or import an existing draft first. - **This workspace already holds as many funnels as your plan stores. Archive a funnel you no longer need, then try again. Nothing was created.** Your workspace is full. Funnels can’t be archived from the app in this release. Ask an owner or admin to change your role.** You are a viewer in this workspace. Only the workspace owner can change roles. - **Your account includes Campaign Vault, so you can install a pack and edit it here. Starting a funnel from a recipe needs FunnelCreative.** Click **Open Campaign Vault** to install a pack instead. - **We couldn’t reach FunnelCreative. Check your connection; nothing was lost from this screen.** - **Your session has ended.
